A course by Tom Moore · inhouselabs

Run Claude Code like an engineering team.

Most AI coding stops at the demo. Whether you've never written a line of code or you ship every day, this is the operating model, the guardrails and the kit for building SaaS that holds up with real customers.

The demo works. Production is where it falls apart.

Decisions

The agent decides things you never agreed to.

It picks the schema, the sign-in flow and the error handling while you're looking at something else. You find out in review. Or in production.

Rules

Your rules get skipped.

A line in a prompt is a suggestion. Without enforcement the agent drops it the moment it gets in the way.

Production

It passes the build and still breaks.

One missed filter shows one customer another customer's data. A green build says nothing about that.

This course is how I fix that on my own production work: a clear role for every model, rules the tooling enforces, a database that keeps customers apart and releases you can trust.

Built for anyone with something to build

Businesses

Build your own tools and products.

Stop waiting on a development team for the systems you already know you need.

Individuals

Turn an idea into a real product.

The beginner lessons start from zero: your machine, GitHub and your first safe session.

The curious

See how AI really builds software.

Every technical term has a plain-English explanation. Hover or tap and you're never lost.

What you'll be able to do

  • Set up your machine, GitHub and Claude Code properly, the way a production team would
  • Give every model a clear role, so decisions go to the strongest one and routine work stays cheap
  • Make your rules impossible for the agent to skip, instead of hoping it remembers them
  • Design a multi-tenant database where one customer can never see another's data
  • Release to a live environment you can trust, with checks that bind people and agents alike
  • Audit your own app for security and enterprise readiness before a client or a pen tester does

The production kit

55 files you copy straight into your repos, tested before they shipped. Every download carries your name.

  • Machine setup and first sessions7
  • Setup guide, agents and the hooks that enforce your rules10
  • Audit skills, including the 50-point security audit5
  • Engineering standards your audits measure against4
  • Tested database SQL7
  • CI, release and go-live runbooks6
  • Production app patterns9
  • Briefs, reports and scorecard templates6

How it's taught

Short lessons

Most take five to eight minutes. The rule comes first, then the reason, often from an incident that really happens on agent-built apps.

Something to do

Lessons end with a step for your own repo, with the exact command and where to run it.

Every term explained

Underlined terms have a plain-English explanation. Hover or tap. Beginners are welcome.

Three levels

Start at beginner and work up. If you've built with agents before, go straight to expert. The deeper detail stays folded away until you want it.

Quizzes and a certificate

Each section ends with a short quiz. Finish them all to earn your certificate.

Yours to keep

The kit files are yours to use in your own projects and your clients' projects.

Who's teaching

Tom Moore Founder, inhouselabs

I'm an ex-military engineer with a brain that has always moved faster than the process in front of it. I spent my early years automating those processes. Tech was always where that was going to end up.

I became a corporate consultant working with global clients. Then I founded my own development business, grew it 120% year on year from just me to more than 30 people and exited to focus on SaaS.

Today I run inhouselabs, a small venture studio. I invest in people and ideas, with six active investments across several industries. One has just closed a SEIS round of more than £200k and is now raising its seed round. I still work with clients around the world.

Every SaaS needs three things. This course gives you the first.

  1. BuildTurning the idea into a product that works with real customers
  2. SellGetting it in front of the people who'll pay for it
  3. Know the subjectUnderstanding the problem better than anyone

This course won't make you a Google-level programmer. It isn't trying to. It exists because people kept asking me how to get involved. The simple steps in it have already taken someone with no tech background to their first product release.

You get my literal templates, my frameworks and 15 years of war wounds. What took me six months to learn, you can pick up in two days.

Got an idea? Let's build it together.

If the course clicks and you've got something you want to build, talk to me. Investment, partnership or a hand getting it shipped: inhouselabs backs people and ideas.

Questions

Who is it for?

Anyone: businesses, individuals or people who are just curious. You don't need to be a developer. The beginner lessons set up your machine, GitHub and Claude Code with you. Every technical term has a plain-English explanation.

Will it make me a professional programmer?

No. It isn't trying to. It's the simple steps, templates and frameworks that have already taken someone with no tech background to their first product release.

Which stack does it use?

Next.js, Supabase and Vercel, because that's where the lessons were learned. The operating model works with any stack. Only the commands change.

What's free?

The first three sections, four lessons from later in the course and an 11-file starter kit that includes the Quick 10 security check. You don't need an account.

Can I share it with my team?

The licence is for one person. For a team licence, get in touch through the support email on the terms page.

Can we build something together?

Yes. If you've got an idea, talk to inhouselabs. We invest in people and ideas. We build with them too.
